THE 4 C

Diamonds have always enchanted people. The unique sparkle and the incredible beauty are just two reasons why.

But in order to determine the exact value of a diamond, you have to take a closer look at the four quality characteristics.

The four quality characteristics are also called the 4 Cs and stand for Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat.

Cut

The most important element is the cut. Only when the diamond is cut into the correct proportions will it achieve its full brilliance.

When selecting our diamonds, we therefore only use synthetic diamonds whose cut has been rated "excellent", which is the highest quality level with which a diamond can be rated.

Clarity

The clarity of diamonds is divided into different categories. A diamond of the highest category (Flawless) is flawless and has no inclusions. The lowest level (Imperfect) represents many or coarse inclusions that prevent the incoming light from being fully reflected.

Experts define the FL-VS2 categories as categories of the highest purity because the possible inclusions cannot be seen with the naked eye.

"Wir bei Hératage orientieren uns an dieser Experten-Meinung und verwendet ausschließlich synthetische Diamanten der Kategorien FL-VS2."

Color

The color is scaled by DZ for diamonds.

D stands for the highest color level (colorless) and Z (yellowish) for the lowest.

At Hératage we only use DF grade colorless diamonds, this allows us to ensure that our diamonds sparkle in the most beautiful shades of white for you.

carat (carat)

Carat corresponds to the unit of weight of diamonds and is therefore another quality feature of the 4 C.

A diamond with the unit 1.00 ct (one carat) weighs the equivalent of 0.2 grams. A brilliant (round cut diamond) of one carat (1.00 ct) usually has a diameter of around 6.5 mm.

Transparency is particularly important to us, which is why you will receive a certificate of authenticity with your order for all rings with a carat size of 0.50 ct or more.
